Hello! My name is Chelsea Melamed and I am a professional opera singer and voice instructor. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Lawrence University Conservatory and a Master's Degree in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate at CCM (University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music) with an emphasis in voice and pedagogy so that I may earn top mastery in teaching and performing.
I love helping students in all genres discover their voice and open their sound. I believe the basis of good singing technique translates across all musical platforms. I also think having a comfortable and fun environment are key factors for vocal growth.
In addition, enjoy teaching beginning piano students. Please contact me at any time. I look forward to helping you along your journey!
I was a professional member of the Cincinnati Opera Chorus for their 2016 season.
I am now on Faculty at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music! I teach a small studio of Musical Theater majors and non-majors at this prestigious program!
I started singing as a professional opera singer five years ago. I have performed various lead and supporting roles with the above companies. I absolutely love performing and believe dramatic work is a key factor in vocal technique!
I taught 7 students weekly at this local music school during the first year of my doctoral program. Again I taught all voice genres, and ranges in age (from 4 yrs. old-45).
I had a studio fo 15 students that I saw each week. I taught voice (classical, musical theater and pop) as well as beginning piano. I left because of a professional performance job followed by my doctoral degree program.
I was awarded a generous talent-based scholarship to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for my Master's degree.
I taught a small studio under the guidance of the head of the pedagogy department at Lawrence University.
