Here is my bio-
An experienced classical and contemporary musician, Charlie has performed at events such as the West Coast Premiere of Sila by John Luther Adams (Ojai Festival), and with ensembles including the Center Stage Opera, Santa Monica Symphony, and Symphonia Pasadena.
His formal education started at Interlochen Arts Academy at age 13 and continued at the University of North Texas, during which time he began to play professionally with the Shreveport Symphony, Sherman Symphony, and the East Texas Symphony. He then relocated to Los Angeles to earn his MFA at California Institute of Arts, under instruction from Peter Rofe (Los Angeles Philharmonic), Darek Oles (Brad Mehldau), and Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick.
He is a frequent performer of new music and has premiered works for solo double bass by contemporary composers including Sean Hayward and Chuck Gloria. His own music explores his influences of folk and the blues and has included collaborations with electronic, avant garde, bluegrass, and jazz musicians.
