I am a professional guitar player, bass player and sound engineer. I have been playing guitar for 16 years. I have found some measure of success in my career both as a performer and professional sound engineer by relying on my ear alone. If you are a total beginner, you will focus on the goal of being able to read a set of chord changes and play those changes on time, and in tune. We will work on several songs at once in the practice of understanding how to perform a song. Ideally, you will be able to use the internet to be a human jukebox with your friends and/or family by the end. Though popular, the guitar is often regarded as one of the most physically and mentally forbidding instruments to practice. But what at first might seem forbidding can with practice be overcome. If, after learning to play songs, you would like to go further in depth from total beginner: we can take a look. A musical virtue which I would encourage the student to develop would be the ability to improvise. No matter how long or short our time together is, we will ultimately be focusing on your goals and your battery of techniques for achieving these goals.
