*** Lesson Details ***
Student focused learning is at the center of my teaching philosophy. At the beginning of the first lesson I want to find out the students musical goals, interests and motivation. I aim to meet the student where they are at, and find fun and engaging ways to teach them more about singing and music. After a few months of lessons students can expect to have further understanding of how the voice works (voice students), music theory, performance methods, technique and stylistic tools in their given genre. Students can also expect to have fun, my hope for students leave their lessons each week feeling uplifted, happy and confident.

In my experience, students benefit by learning from many different experiences that address their multiple intelligence e.g. logical, visual, musical, kinesthetic, verbal etc. When teaching I aim to connect skills being learnt with the context of performance while teaching to the students preference learning style.

Trust between my students and I provide the container for the learning process. As a teacher I believe it is my role to facilitate and engage in a reciprocal relationship that inspires the student to learn. My teaching approach is characterized by qualities of love and commitment to singing and music. I love sharing my passion, experiences and knowledge so that students may benefit and share the joy of music. I am flexible and laid back in my approach, while ensuring that each lesson is productive.

It is integral to the learning process to work incrementally, introducing new material skillfully and in achievable portions. This provides maximum opportunity for the student to have as many successes as possible during the lesson. I have found this way of working leaves the student feeling as if each task is achievable. As the teacher I maintain both long and short term goals with my students. In order to reach these desired goals it is important to see the bigger picture while working incrementally week to week.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I provide my laptop with any necessary backing tracks, music stand and recording software. I expect students to provide their own instrument and music.

*** Travel Equipment ***

Just talked to Zach, great insight! Been picking away at this song for a couple hours and his ear made me realize I'm over thinking things again. His simple solution will help big time.

I was feeling really self-conscious about this lesson experience, as I am not technically savvy, and my guitar was one string down. I didn't think I would enjoy taking a lesson online, but Zachary made me feel so at ease. He was patient, clear, thorough, and most importantly- encouraging. The online aspect was actually really cool. I would definitely take another online lesson with Zachary!

Made me feel so comfortable

Zach has an innate ability to listen to my particuliar interest in learning the piano and gearing his lessons in that direction. Being an older student, I thought I would feel intimidated. I was pleased that was not the case. I would highly recommend Zach.

Zachary Rocks!

I took an online guitar lesson with Zachary. My intention was to learn a few basic chords, and to get comfortable holding my guitar. (In the past, holding a guitar has always hurt my wrist.)

Zachary was patient and encouraging. He definitely helped me get more comfortable, and boosted my self-confidence when it comes to my potential to eventually play.

We went at the pace that worked best for me, and he didn't complain or freak out when I had technical difficulties. It was a great experience!

A very good, qualified, clear, resourceful teacher. Very quickly understood exactly the problem I was facing and actually got me involved in working along hands-on towards the solution, instead of merely instructing.

Excellent guitar teacher

Zach has been coming to our house in Upper Montclair and teaching our 6-year old son for about one month. My son is very excited about learning the guitar and has learned tremendously. Zach is always punctual, polite and fun to work with. He has very good teaching skills with kids. My son loves his classes and we are so happy we found such a talented artist to teach our son.

Great guy, great price

I almost gave up on trying to find a vocal coach because I simply could not afford what they were asking for. Zac however offers top notch teaching and at a lower price than many others. He clearly knows what he's talking about but doesn't share his knowledge in an arrogant or belittling way. Looking forward to our next lesson!

Professional teacher, perfect for all levels and ages!

I have known Zac for many years and have observed his work as a teacher and performer. Zac conducts his lessons on a very professional level, he is very informative and he caters every lesson to each students specific needs. I have seen huge improvements from many of Zacs students. He is especially qualified to teach contemporary techniques (belt, mix) needed for such styles as musical theatre, pop, rock, rnb and jazz. Whether you are looking for a teacher for your young child or are a professional yourself I strongly recommend you book a session with Zac!

Professional Teaching

Zac is a very polite and respectful teacher. He has much knowledge and shares a range of techniques that benefit the student in achieving their goals. His ability to communicate effectively allows him to lead the student in the correct path. Within just one lesson a week with him, i would walk out of the lesson feeling confident as i notice just how much his teachings had effectively bettered my vocal skills.

Vocal Lessons

This past summer I had the pleasure of having Zac Bradford as a vocal instructor. I learned where my sound was being made and how to find harmonies. He really helped me with not just my singing but also my stage presence and how to audition with confidence. I'm so glad to say that I truly learned so much and that my voice has definitely improved.
