    About Celina Y.

I hold a Masters and Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance with Honors from the Mannes College of The New School for Music. While attending I received a Merit-based scholarship for both degrees. I have a strong teaching background, from working with private cello students and conducting youth orchestras for 8 years. My students are actively performing in orchestras such as MYO, NYLO, and ISO. They have also received excellent grades in NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) and been accepted to preparatory schools in New York City. Last year I moved into NJ after marriage, and planning to start a cello teaching in NJ as well. I like to teach in a way that conveys a positive message to my students while focusing on practical technique and basic theory; with an emphasis on emotional expression. I love to work with students of all ages, and host an annual student concert since 2009. I am able to assist with the instrument rental.
