I have been a music teacher for over two decades, teaching individual piano lessons, group workshops on piano technique/music theory/music performance, and early childhood music. To me, teaching is about the person (student), not the curriculum or material - my focus is always on the student first, the material second. I like to engage and motivate students based on their interests and learning styles. I am always looking to develop as much rapport with my students as possible and connect with them personally and also through music.
My training background was initially in piano performance, with a BM from Manhattan School of Music and a MA from Queens College (CUNY). Currently I am in the doctoral program in Music and Music Education at Teachers College Columbia University.
I am always looking forward to having fun with my students in lessons, and learn and grow through the wonder and joy of music!
