Dr. Caroline holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the Manhattan School of Music, Master of Music degree from Mannes College of Music in violin performance, and Bachelor of Music degree from East Carolina University in violin performance and piano performance. Caroline has cultivated a private studio for 16 years and also has served on the faculty of the ECU Summer Chamber Music Institute in Greenville, NC, Suzuki on the Island, Manhattan School of Music Summer Camp, and the Distance Learning program at MSM.
Awarded first place in the 2012 Collegiate String Division at the National Music Teachers National Association competition in New York City, Caroline has performed throughout the United States and Europe as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. Caroline won the East Carolina University concerto competition in her freshman year; in her junior year, she won both the Durham Symphony Orchestra and Raleigh Symphony Orchestra concerto competitions. Caroline was selected as a finalist to compete in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Competition in Houston, Texas and in 2015, she won the Manhattan School of Music Classical Concerto Competition. Caroline was also the first place winner in the 2014 Duxbury Music Festival Solo Competition, and recently, as a soloist, she performed Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with Maestro Nicholas Palmer and the EUS orchestra in Hingham, Massachusetts.
An avid chamber musician, Caroline has performed in venues around North America, including Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. She was selected to perform in the East Carolina University Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival: Next Generation Series several times, giving her the opportunity to perform with such artists as Hagai Shaham, Michael Kannen, and Robert McDonald. She was chosen to perform Lowell Liebermann’s Chamber Concerto for Violin, Piano, and String Quartet alongside Lucie Robert and Pavlina Dokovska on a recital honoring Dr. Liebermann. Caroline also performed Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet with Jeffrey Cohen, Lucie Robert, Laurent Verney, and Philippe Muller in Tignes, France.
