I have had a passion for drums since the age of 4. Music has been an important part of my life as far back as I can remember!
I am currently accepting new students to add to my current roster. I teach all my students rudimental technique, reading skills through a number of books, ear technique with music and mixing in many of the techniques that I personally found useful to improving my own skills.
I have learned a great deal from playing for many years with my own bands, working in the studio recording with my own bands and for other musician, working with over 500 students through private lessons and working on my own to develop my own technique.
I joined the school band in the 4th grade and continued learning through my senior year. School band allowed me to learn technique for snare drum and a variety of percussion instruments. It also got me involved in marching band for more rudimental technique. Starting as a young teenager I began to study for a number of years with several experienced and well respected Drum instructors in the Metro Detroit area. This added additional rudimental technique as well as helping to mold my drum set technique.
I my senior year I joined my first band playing locally in the Detroit area clubs. I have continued to play and perform over the years with a number of bands playing all over Michigan, Canada, Ohio and Pennsylvania. I have also spent a lot of time in the recording studios with my own bands recording our own music as well as laying down drum and vocal tracks for a number of other Detroit area musicians.
At 19, I started to teach private drum lessons. I have continued to teach over the years to students of all ages. I have also hosted several local Drum Jams / Drum recitals featuring many of my drum student over the years.
I take pride in seeing my students grow and develop as solid confident players!
I have been teaching private drum lessons at Music Stadium for over 14 years.
