Do you want to have fun? AND learn piano? Then I am the piano teacher for YOU! I've learned tricks of the trade, secrets of playing (that I'll only share with my students) and have lots of great ideas of how to help you achieve your goals.
The process of learning to play piano, or continuing to improve your skills, can be just as much fun as the end result!
We've all read how good for the brain playing piano is...using left and right sides...concrete and abstract...but let's not forget the FUN factor! I'm lucky to be able to do what I do and I can help you be so lucky, too!
I took piano lessons for 19 years and can play (and teach) classical, pop, rock, jazz, theory and composition. I've been teaching piano to students from 3 years old to 85 and they've all enjoyed themselves.
I've also had quite a bit of experience in teaching people with a variety of special needs. There is so much benefit to learning and playing the piano for all of us, but you can only imagine how great it is for people who have special needs.
Teaching piano is my passion and I'm excited to share it with everyone.
Candy is sweet as sweet can be! She has always been so patient with my daughter who has some physical limitations as well as sensory issues. When time came for the recital, Candy gave her the confidence she needed to get up and play in front of all those people. My daughter won't ever play piano with me she, but always enjoys going to play with Miss Candy!+ Read More
Over the almost three years that I have been taking lessons with Candy, I have learned many new things about playing piano. She always makes it a positive experience and not only has me play the songs from the book, but also lets me learn some songs that I choose. Also, she is funny and always makes me laugh. Overall I would rate Candy 5 stars without question.+ Read More
I have been taking lessons for two years with Candy. Every lesson is awesome. I get to learn new things, while improving on things I have already learned. I recently joined a Jazz Band and the music was very difficult for me. I took my music to piano and Candy helped me with it. She is an amazing teacher!+ Read More

Candy was the best piano teacher ever she was so kind and her recitals were so much fun! She was very flexible with my schedule and always willing to move my lessons if I was too busy! I would recommend candy to everyone.
I started piano lessons with Candy four years ago.
I am an adult learner and had never studied a musical instrument before. Candy has a patient and inspirational style of instruction. She has made me very aware of all aspects of playing the piano, not just reading the notes. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a talented instructor.
Candy is extremely kind and patient with children, so children look forward to being with her. When I took lessons from her years ago, as an adult, I was amazed at how quickly I progressed--again, she is very kind so I never felt worried or under any terrible pressure to get everything perfect. Lessons and practicing were enjoyable.+ Read More
Candy is amazing!
I took lessons with Candy through high school, paying with my own babysitting money — if that's any indication of how much I wanted to keep coming back (and how affordable the lessons were). Candy fostered in me a love of piano and a love of music, and helped me to establish confidence in myself and my abilities. She is an amazing mentor and a kind, patient and inspirational person, an absolute angel who is amazing with adults and very young children alike. She's also a skilled musician with a true gift for teaching and helping others, you can tell she really loves what she does and understands the importance of passing her wisdom along.
Grateful to have such a wonderful piano teacher for both of my children!
All around wonderful teacher. Highly recommend Candy.
She bring humor to the table and makes learning fun! Can't believe I accomplished some of the pieces I did! Thanks!
Candy taught my children and myself. She was patient and fun with the children, always encouraging and positive. When I returned to the piano playing after many years, she helped me tackle difficult and complicated pieces ranging from Bach to Chopin to Scott Joplin.+ Read More
Candy is a marvelous teacher. She has a wonderful ability to adopt her instruction to anyone and everyone, from senior learners who wish to play classical pieces to youngsters in tune with the latest movie scores. Her style accommodates the casual player to more ambitious students who take the piano seriously. Highly recommended!+ Read More
Candy is amazing! I had 10+ years of piano lessons with her. I started not much interested in piano at age 7 but through her patience and encouragement, I grew to love it. Candy emphasizes passion and love for the instrument over rigorous drills; from the beginning, she sought out music that would interest me and didn't force me to play songs perfectly. Because of this, I willingly stuck with my piano lessons and was more willing to practice longer and more diligently when I got to more difficult pieces. My final recital piece was Rhapsody in Blue, which is super hard, but she coached me through it for months and we found ways to tackle it together, and I certainly wouldn't have achieved that without her.+ Read More
"Miss Candy" is an excellant instructor. Her lessons were always age appropriate which allowed my daughter to not only learn to read music and play the piano, but to also explore her creativity and build self confidence. We also had younger siblings at our lessons and Miss Candy always welcomed their curiosity with the piano.+ Read More
Candace is patient, funny, very experienced, and talented. She cares about her pupils and is realistic - she knows sometimes you don't practice. But she has great material - varied and fun and challenging - and listens to her students needs and desires. i live too far away now to take lessons from Candace, but we keep in touch. She is a very talented musician, but watch out for her sense of humor. She'll have you crying you laugh so hard. Bring tissues.+ Read More
I have been receiving lessons from Candy for roughly 5 years. Candy is always willing to help me out with whatever I ask of her. Sometimes I will want to play something jazzy... Candy will provide it. Sometimes I will want to play something more classical. Candy will provide it. Sometimes I will want to play something more in the style of pop. Candy will provide it. She also is a cutting edge teacher, she is always wanting to try new things. At her most recent recital, I played a song called "Galop March" with 4 other students! At the same time... at the same piano... on the same bench! I was so beyond thrilled that Candy gave us students the opportunity to attempt this, and execute it at a recital! It was definitely the most memorable experience I have had playing piano ever. Most importantly though, Candy is more than just a teacher. She is a friend. She is someone I trust. Not only has she helped me improve my musical skills, but over the years she has helped me become a better person as a whole. I highly recommend Candy to anyone and everyone. 5 Stars!+ Read More
