*** Lesson Details ***
I have a “parent’s always welcome” attitude in a well equipped furnished basement studio. I can make recording and CD creation available.
My teaching method guarantees you how to play the guitar, not just songs by memory or tab.
I call my style the Quick Fret board Mastery Teaching Style. Using this you will learn quickly how to play songs and have fun, but will be gaining the fundamentals all along. There are no boring theory classes or repetitive scale sessions, but you will leave each lesson with new knowledge of theory and scales without actually studying them separately. You will instead being playing songs and having fun.
We have a custom workbook that includes CHORDS, SCALES, PROGRESSIONS, CHARTING and ADVANCED THEORY. The workbook outlines the basics, we add to it every week with material customized for you.
We go as fast or as slow as you decide. We give homework, but it is not mandatory.
If you are a student you will shine in your school, group or band. If you are an adult you will be amazed at how fast you learn and how good you will become.
We hope you grow to love music and the guitar as much as I do. ROCK ON!

***Experience***
I have played rock and blues guitar for 30 years. I grew up with the Beatles and Rolling Stones, but now play in the Albert King, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton blues styles. I know most rock, blues, folk and jazz styles with some knowledge of country and classical.
I have been the rhythm, lead or bass guitar player in six bands spanning 30 years. My current band is West of the Blues.
I was mentored by Mike Bruce. Mike was BB King’s, Bobby Blue Bland’s and Bob Seger’s lead guitar player for many years. He has played with everyone from Eric Clapton to Janet Jackson.
During the Mike Bruce period my band opened for him almost everywhere. He became my mentor and guitar teacher and only then did I start learning how to play the instrument that initially looked easy.
I have taught Rock Band and Guitar in Denver Public Schools for the past four years.
I have taught guitar and bass informally for about 14 years and our Littleton based lesson studio has been in operation for eight years with lessons taught more formally.
I also am the founder of and current teacher at the School of Blues Colorado. Additionally I am the Band Director for 3 of the School of Blues bands.
