    About Calvin G.

Since I started playing guitar at age 10, I have been in love with music and kept it in my life no matter what else I did. I continued my learning with a minor in Music (alongside my degree in Germanic Studies) at Indiana University, plus non-degree music study at CU Boulder and private instruction. Now, I want to use my professional performing and teaching experience to help aspiring guitarists sound their best. I believe that all skill comes first from love of the craft. My teaching style is patience and discovering what brings life to the student's playing. I focus on practical skills and building a base of essential knowledge, while avoiding the shortcuts that end up limiting so many guitarists. I like to teach by being patient, personable, and encouraging students to explore their musical curiosity and challenge themselves.
