As a teacher, I focus on developing solid musicianship and technical foundations while tailoring my approach to the needs, goals, and learning styles of each individual student. For students with professional aspirations, I strive to instill a thorough understanding of taste and style as well as high standards of technical execution. However, I am equally committed to teaching amateurs, and hope that students whose careers lie in other fields of endeavor will derive lessons of historical context and problem solving from their violin studies. Most importantly, I encourage all of my students to develop confidence in their personal voice, with the objective of helping them to become both convincing performers and authentic, self-reliant human beings.

I'm a professional violinist and teacher who has taught violin, viola, and chamber music at New York University and at several schools in Massachusetts. I perform regularly with the Chelsea Symphony, the Handel Festival Orchestra, and Opera Italiana. If you look closely, you can even spot me in the orchestra on the TV series Mozart in the Jungle! I love working with students of all ages and levels to discover your personal musical voice and help you build the technical foundation to support it.
