I help singers find their authentic voice! If you want to improve your musical knowledge and learn how to sing with ease from the bottom of your vocal range to the top - I am the instructor for you! :-D *Beginners- will learn basic vocal techniques including: breath control, broadening their vocal range, and most importantly- discovering the joy of singing! *Intermediate Students- will expand their technique as they begin to develop their individual repertoire and artistic abilities as well as work through performance anxiety in order to perform in public with ease and confidence! *Advanced Students- will expand their understanding of their individual voice, learn audition techniques, discover how they can use dynamics as an expressive tool, expand upon their repertoire, and outline career goals in performance/music. ABOUT ME: American soprano Brittany H has received top awards from the American Opera Society in Chicago, the Metropolitan Opera National Council, the Chicago Musicians Club of Women (Farwell Trust Award), and was runner-up in the Kleinman Vocal Competition at DePaul University for two consecutive years. Most recently, Ms. H presented an Opera Gala Recital for the Rochester Opera Guild in Rochester, NY. Prior to this recital she presented a recital of folk melodies at Chicago’s famed Fourth Presbyterian Church and made her debut with DuPage Opera Theatre as Ida in Die Fledermaus. In 2018, she attended Teatro Nuovo’s inaugural season as an Apprentice Artist, under the direction of Maestro Will Crutchfield where she studied the role of Ilia in Idomeneo and performed scenes from Le nozze di Figaro. Ms. H was also featured as the soprano soloist with Rochester Oratorio Society in Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus. A seasoned recitalist, Ms. H performed in the American Opera Society Spring Gala and held her Award Winners in Concert Series recital with Musicians Club of Women at the Chicago Cultural Center. Previously, as a Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera, she performed the role of the Countess of Aremberg in Verdi’s Don Carlos and understudied the roles of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Queen of Shemakhan in The Golden Cockerel, and Thibault in Don Carlos. She holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from DePaul University where her portrayals included the title roles in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and La Calisto by Cavalli, and Mimì in La Bohème. Additional operatic and straight theatre production roles include: Mabel/The Pirates of Penzance, Princess Ida (cover)/Princess Ida, Rose/Dancing at Lughnasa, Mary/The Devil and Daniel Webster, and Mrs. Peters/Trifles. Ms. H resides in Connecticut and is represented by Wade Artist Management in New York, NY. In 2020 she will debut the role of Maria in West Side Story with New Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to performing and teaching voice Brittany also teaches Beginner to Intermediate Piano and Music Theory of all levels to her students!
