I started learning guitar on my own. I got some CD’s. It got me started. However, I wasn’t progressing. I looked for an instructor in my area and Brian Gross came up in my search engine. I was very frustrated at first but Brian assured me it takes time and practice. It’s the little things that he teaches you that makes all the difference. If you listen to what he tells you and apply it you will amazed. Great musician, great teacher.

Brian is a wonderful, fun, and very supportive guitar teacher. He encourages students like me to practice and learn, and he gives very positive and tailored instruction. He allows his students to choose the style of music that they want to learn, and he offers the easiest and most straightforward way to learn it. He prepares his lessons very well, and it is always a joy to see his cheerful face. Even someone like me who sometimes fumbles around with the strings can feel comfortable in his great manner of teaching. I find that I have learned quite a bit in a very short amount of time, even with my busy work schedule. The guitar exercises that he gives us are fun to do and so effective. I highly recommend him as a guitar teacher, and I look forward to many more lessons with him.

Brian immediately knew how to adapt to my profile.... not too young, not too talented, not too available, and without any ambition about playing on stage or in a group. I've been learning bass guitar for one month and a half with him, starting at a beginner's level. Last week-end I was able to play a few songs more or less correctly with some friends at a party. Brian has the talent to keep the fun while teaching, and bringing appreciable progress in a very pleasant path.

Have only been playing for a couple weeks now, but I can tell this is something that I will want to do for the rest of my life. Brian makes it very easy to learn and is very helpful in tracking my progression. Look forward to each week and the opportunity to get better!

My son, age 10, was a beginner when he started with Brian a little more than a year ago. Not only is Brian an experienced, expert guitar player, he's also an exceptionally patient teacher who adapts his lessons to the skill level and tastes of the student. Brian makes guitar lessons fun and knows how to motivate my son to continue practicing outside of lessons.

My son started out learning guitar and recently has taken up the bass, too! He's been learning songs I like with dominant bass patterns such as Pump it Up by Elvis Costello, Get Ready by The Temptations, the theme song from The Barney Miller show (1970s) and, most recently, Sunshine of Your Love by Cream.

My son really looks forward to his weekly lesson and has a great rapport with Brian. My son learns the basics using Brian's guitar instruction book, learning how to play blues and rock standards while mixing in the alternative rocks songs he plays and performs with his band.

Brian has been invaluable in teaching my son the skills required to perform live in front of an audience, reviewing performances and providing advice on how to optimize live sound production. Brian provided great notes about the stage set up for my son's band's performance at the school talent show. In less than a year, my son went from just picking up the instrument to playing on stage in front of a large audience and holding his own with a band of more experienced musicians. Brian was a huge help in making this happen!

My son and I have been taking Blues lessons from Brian for 4 months. My son is an excellent pianist and he is rapidly becoming proficient as a Blues guitarist under Brian's direction. We have also taken lessons together so we can start playing together. The lessons have been a lot of fun and we are starting to jam. Brian has a deep knowledge of the Blues and he is excellent at passing this knowledge to his students. I highly recommend him as a teacher of this great style of American music.
