I hold music degrees from the Yale School of Music, Pomona College, and La Universidad de Chile, and have 15+ years teaching experience. In addition to my private studio, I taught private composition lessons and electronic music at Yale; guitar at Saint David's School in Manhattan; and guitar and musicianship at Junipero Serra Elementary School and ViBO Music School in San Francisco, and CO-OP High School and High School in the Community in New Haven. I play guitar with orchestras and chamber ensembles, metal and indie bands, and in opera/musical theater pits, and I have performed in concert halls and festivals around the world, including the Barbican Theatre (London), the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), the Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing), and the Ellnora Guitar Festival (Champagne-Urbana, IL). I write music for classical performers (Chicago Symphony, Omaha Symphony), cross-genre/experimental groups (Bang on a Can, Dither), film scores (Swimming with Stones, Docked), and my metal band Scarcity. My work has received support from the Jerome Foundation, New Music USA, New York State Council for the Arts, Chamber Music America, the Guitar Foundation of America, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and ASCAP.

Brendon is amazing teacher. Between running my business and raising a family, I don’t have much time for practice, but Brendon always helps me to catch up if my practice takes a back seat for a week or two. He creates supportive atmosphere and after the lesson I am always reinvigorated to practice more.
Brendan is a great instructor. He has quickly learned my son's skill level and adapted his teaching to it, finding practice material that is beneficial as well as enjoyable for him. Olive is really enjoying his weekly lessons with Brendon.
Great very informative
