I have taught music extensively for the past 15+ years in a variety of settings, including teaching private guitar lessons at Saint David's School in Manhattan, teaching private composition lessons and TA'ing two electronic music courses at Yale; teaching guitar and musicianship in public elementary and high schools in San Francisco and New Haven, as well as several private music schools and my own private guitar studio. I write music for classical performers (Chicago Symphony, Omaha Symphony), cross-genre/experimental groups (Bang on a Can, Dither), film scores (Docked, We The Economy: Recession), and my own groups Marateck and Invisible Anatomy. My work has received support from the Jerome Foundation, New Music USA, New York State Council for the Arts, Chamber Music America, the Guitar Foundation of America, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and ASCAP. I have performed in clubs, concert halls, and basements around the world, including the Barbican Theatre (London), the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), and the Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing).

Brendon is amazing teacher. Between running my business and raising a family, I don’t have much time for practice, but Brendon always helps me to catch up if my practice takes a back seat for a week or two. He creates supportive atmosphere and after the lesson I am always reinvigorated to practice more.
