My name is Dr. Bonnie teVelde. I love teaching students of all ages. I recently started teaching people from all over the world online, and I love it even more than teaching in my huge Conservatory of Music building. It allows me to get to know each student well, while keeping everyone safe from viruses and illnesses. I am an ENFP personality type, which makes me extraverted and enthusiastic, friendly, and creative and intuitive in sensing what my students need most at each lesson. I love to compose, and have written both pieces for piano without words, and songs for guitar, voice, and piano that have words. My favorite music to write is classical and spiritual. It has to touch me inside to make me want to write about it. I am a feeler, which means that the most important part of any lesson, for me, is to connect with the student and give them exactly what they need at that time. I am a spontaneous, multi-tasker which makes me flexible when it comes to finding the exact curriculum each student will love, so they will continue to feel motivated to learn each week. I have been teaching piano, voice, and flute for over 40 years. I am a student of the methods of Maria Montessori, Shinichi Suzuki, Dr. Randall and Nancy Faber, Dr. Kevin Olson, and Dr. Alan Greene. I have written a multisensory, multi-instrumental, whole-brain music method with 6 books, and 3 songbooks, in full color, that teaches music through learning to hear and identify the unique vibration of each note. This is called perfect pitch, and is the basis of all savant like musical talent. This is the foundation that all of my lessons are built upon. I have perfect pitch, and I have taught perfect pitch to students as young as 2, and to elderly students in their 90's. I have taught perfect pitch, voice, piano, and flute online. I lead a team of highly trained teachers at the teVelde Conservatory of Music.
