    About Bogdan B.

Plato once said that “Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.” I believe that music is one of the deepest and most complex art forms. It reaches the depths of our souls and affects our lives in meaningful ways. It is my constant aspiration to inspire students to communicate the deepest longings of their souls through music, something that also requires the development of discipline and clear thinking. I strive to inspire my students to make music a life-long pursuit. While realizing that not all my students will become professional musicians, I do think that learning to play a musical instrument is essential in becoming a well-rounded human being. Teaching students to play their instruments in such a way that their souls are reflected in the music they perform is no easy task. My job as a teacher is to identify what Michelangelo called the “rubbish” -- those obstacles that stand in the way of natural and free musical expression -- and devise the most effective and fun ways to bring the “David” within to the forefront.
