I am a professional clarinetist with over 15 years of teaching experience. I have a B. Mus in clarinet performance from Oberlin Conservatory and a M. Mus in bass clarinet performance from Rotterdam Conservatory.
In my teaching approach, I emphasize basic techniques, such as breathing, articulation, and finger technique at all levels of teaching because I believe we get better by refining our most basic actions as wind musicians. Typical classes with me involve scales, etudes, and repertoire, although I can help on specific auditions or clarinet related problems.
I have successfully helped my students place in International competitions, win jobs in orchestras, perform as soloists, prepare recitals, and All-State.

I am a professional clarinetist with a master's degree and over 15 years of teaching experience.
My classes focus on both the technical side of playing clarinet and how to develop and express your own musical expression through the music that we learn. I use scales and technical studies as a spring board to discuss the technical problems (air, articulation, and finger technique), and musical pieces to discuss expression and style.
