    About Bill N.

Patient. Curious. Organized. The three traits of a learner's mindset that Bill strives to retain as a teacher. Patience to build a solid foundation of focus upon which learning structures can be built. Curiosity to constantly seek out new and improved education methods, musical styles, and creative practice techniques. Organization for an efficient teaching relationship. Bill has studied music at DePaul University and Columbia College, taught songwriting to friends of all ages and experience levels, and has written over a hundred songs in the 12 years since he taught himself his first instrument. Guided by his holistic philosophy of music, Bill's teaching combines active listening and immersion in the selected musical tradition with a practice regimen based on neuroscience and learning theory. When he's not writing music, Bill enjoys woodworking, spending quality time with his wife Angela and dog Henry, and writing bios in the third person.
