With 10 years of teaching experience, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance, my students can expect a refined pedagogical approach designed to teach them conservatory-level core competencies every musician should know up to advanced techniques.

In our first lesson, we will carefully map a trajectory that will get you to your goals. The way my approach differs from many teachers is I don't approach every student with the same methodology, but instead rely on your interests to build a methodology together.

This will usually include: piano literature ranging from classical to modern genres, composition, music theory, ear training, sight reading, transposition, improvisation, accompanying techniques, and other skills depending on what my student needs. Students who enroll come from all walks of life. Some are hobbyists; some are children; some are working professionals, and some are seasoned musicians looking to better their craft.

About Benjamin R.

I never feel there isn't more to learn when you start music. I am constantly looking for a higher artistic level, and that is what I encourage in all my students. The work is never done. I welcome you to an adventure of a lifetime in music. My goal is to give all my students the independence they need to be true artists of piano music. I go at your pace, but I also challenge you to always push the envelope and achieve greater heights.

A little about me: With over 25 years playing piano music, I have performed at many venues. I have performed in venues such as The Adrienne Arsht Center, Mondavi Center, Steinway & Sons Gallery in New York City and Miami, Capistrano Hall (CA), Elizabeth Hall (FL), Gusman Hall (FL) and internationally in Paris, France.

I have won several piano competitions in California and Florida. Some of my students have achieved high certifications in the Royal Conservatory of Music pianist program and the Federation of Music Clubs. I studied with Juilliard Steinway Artist Richard Cionco and Indiana University Steinway Artist Dr. Michael Rickman. I have an M.M in Piano Performance and B.M in Piano Performance.

If you are looking for someone to prepare you for college auditions, I also provide those students with additional support for college applications. I have a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and have worked for several colleges including Berklee College of Music, Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), New World School of the Arts, and Cornish College of the Arts. I have also worked with students at Rice University, Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Curtis Institute, University of Miami, Eastman School of Music, and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

I welcome anyone willing to give themselves the gift of music. It is truly a joy. Good luck on your journey.
