I am a piano teacher with over 25 years of experience. I was hand-picked to began training at the early age of 6 through the Music School for Gifted Children in Russia. After 11 years of intensive training in piano performance and theory, I went on to complete my Bachelors degree at Music Institute of Russia. There I was classically trained in music education and accompaniment.
Soon after that I began to pursue my love of teaching and taught students of all ages in a music school in Russia. I am currently a member of HMTA, MTNA, and TMTA teacher associations.
I have worked at the Suzuki Music School of Houston since 2000, instructing students in piano, piano performance, and theory. My students perform at several musicales and recitals every year to demonstrate their skills and receive recognition for their hard work. I take pride in getting them ready for their debuts and encouraging their interest in different kinds of musical pieces and genres. Those interested in putting in the extra effort for competitions can be entered into those as well.
Teaching is my passion and I believe that children gain so much more than just the beautiful skill of tickling the ivories. Students of all ages gain confidence, self-esteem, and a good work ethic. Music is linked to better math grades, improved memory, and coordination in general. I love that my job is helping students achieve their goals. I enjoy watching them succeed and explore their talents in piano.I believe that music is a gift which you can give yourself at any age. It will expand your mind and fill your heart. It is a skill which you and your family will enjoy forever. Although many of the students I work with begin at age 5, I have seen adults of all ages succeed under my tutelage.
*** Lesson Details ***
Students can expect to have a tailored curriculum based on their age, experience, and preferences. They can also expect a teacher who is patient, understanding, and demands the very best from the students to ensure that they are getting the most out of their lessons!
I am trained in both Traditional and Suzuki methods and alternate between them based on what the student wants. I often start the students on sight-reading and picking up the song by ear before moving on to more complex pieces. You will see your improvement and progress in just a few weeks time!
Initially I will provide copies of the musical pieces but will give my recommendations for a more permanent book. Students should be equipped with a piano or keyboard both for lessons and practice between sessions.
Many students play piano in hopes of continuing with their instrument well into their young adult and adult lives. Thus they seek to put their talent on college admissions applications. Requests for references and assistance in recording tapes to send will happily be fulfilled with advance notice!
*** Travel Equipment ***
The students would need to possess a piano or keyboard at their place of residence.
*** Specialities ***
I specialize both in Traditional and Suzuki methods.

We have been with Bella for 3 months now and my daughter has made exceptional progress. Although my daughter was not a beginner piano player, she was not challenged enough. Bella is direct and firm about her teaching and it has made my daughter be more disciplined. My daughter is proud of her progress and can't believe she can play multi paged pieces now. I would recommend Bella to any student who wants to take their piano playing to the next level. We are looking forward to the next recital to showcase her progress and achievement!

My husband and I are so pleased with the progress our daughter has made with the Suzuki method. Amelia began playing with both hands way earlier than we expected. She loves playing all her favorite songs to her friends!
