I have 5+ years of professional teaching experience both guitar and piano....I have all the degrees BS & MS,none of which are in Music, but my whole family is musically orientated. 1/2 my immediate family had a wedding band for years when I was a youngster. My father still to this day fixes instruments in his retirement and plays out still as well. My father was actually the one who said don't go to school for music its a tough world out there for folks with music degrees, but I wish I had gone against his advice on that one. I love teaching and would have liked to have done it in a school system. I have in the past been a substitute teacher for some of the local schools in there music departments. I have a great deal of knowledge and teach to have fun, but understanding there is time for that fun mode, when all the proper learning is done. Meaning learning your notes, learning some theory, all that critical book stuff. I don't just sit there and say "let's play a 3 chord song", and I have heard of teachers that really just teach chords and can not get over that. Put it this way you get your monies worth with me! You will learn!! Properly!!!
