Badie K. is a contemporary music composer and pianist who tries to incorporate western and eastern music. He was born in Kerman, Iran, and his father was his first music teacher. He started violin at age of 7. When he was 12, he started playing piano. He studied composition with Dr. Fahim Momtazi, and Dr. Tengiz Shavlokhashvili in Tehran, Iran. He studied piano performance at Bahai Institute of Higher Education in Tehran, Iran. In January 2014 he came to U.S. as a religious refugee and now he studies music composition at University of Georgia with Dr. Jesse Jones, Dr. Adam Roberts, and electronic composition with Dr. Peter Lane.
He started to teach music in age of 15. When he was 22 he became one of founders of AVA music institute and he taught piano, violin, and music theory. Badie started AVA youth Orchestra at 2008 and arranged more than 50 Persian folk music for youth orchestra which he conducted for three years. His students perform constantly in recitals and concerts.
