Hey, I'm Austin, and I'm so glad you've chosen to look into my page for your online guitar lessons. If you want lessons tailored to YOU, to achieve you to the goals and dreams YOU want? Then these are the lessons for you! When I get a new student the very first thing I do is give them a test (don't worry it's not a written test!) to help me better understand and move them towards whatever goals they've described to me. Once I know and understand these goals I create a clear pathway for them and walk them along that path every step of the way! As long as you comprehend each lesson item I give and how to apply it, then each lesson with me are really just steps closer and closer to your goals. Even if your goals change somewhere along the line, I'm able to readjust the path I've laid out for you to better help you towards your new goals. Have a guitar/practice question but your lesson is days away? No worries! I give my personal email and phone number to all my students for convenient 24/7 support! If you have any questions now or would like to hear more about how my lessons work, shoot me a question at the top of the page. I can't wait to work with you and make you the awesome guitar player you've always wanted to be

From the short time of knowing Austin he clearly enjoys and knows his music. We are constantly having discussions about music terms and about the music industry. Austin Valentyne is the first non-famous rock star I ever met. He has the work ethic and determination of someone who has been in the music industry his whole life. He practice constantly, is a patient teacher I would recommend any one who wants to learn the guitar and be awesome at it to take lessons from Austin.

In the short amount that I've been associated with Austin, He has burned with several positive characteristics of a musician. His dedication and heart that he has for music and teaching others to play and go into music are just a few of the reasons why kids today are still picking up instruments and learning to be little rockstars. He is a real artist, music is clearly his life. Also, his determination and dedication to his art as well as for his students musical success is completely unparallelled. If I had to describe a perfect guitar in three words , that's got the passion and dedication to get to get you to your guitar playing goals, I'd say "My OG Austin"

I've been a frequent collaborator of Austin's over the years through innumerable bands(A Mistress Called Misery, To See A Star Die) and business ventures(Studio 13, Catalyst Records.) If Austin is anything, it's passionate. Austin has proven to be an adaptable teacher, while I've never received lessons from him personally, I've observed him working with students as far back as our high school volunteer experience giving music lessons at New Media Middle. Whether you have a basic grasp of music or you've never picked up an instrument in you life, Austin will take the time to adapt to your specific needs as a guitarist and teach you what you need to know.

    Experience

    Founder/Manager

    Aug, 2015 - Present

    Catalyst Records

Catalyst Records is a creative space and developing recording studio started by my band mates and I. We have a vision of letting the artists keep the creativity and use money only for the sole purpose of staying open.

    Guitar Instructor

    Jan, 2013 - Apr, 2013

    New Media Middle School

As part of an internship for my high school career, I spent every Wednesday helping middle school students pick up the guitar and find a passion for music. We were essentially the arts program for New Media Middle (the middle school expansion of the A.C.P.A. high school) and would have continued teaching there but the school had funding issues and ended up closing it's doors. This was my first experience with teaching guitar to others and how I found out just how much I love sharing the ability with others!

    Guitarist/Songwriter/Producer

    Sep, 2010 - Present

    To See A Star Die

To See A Star Die is a local Metalcore band that I am co-founder and Guitarist for. I take a primary role when it comes to songwriting and composing music for the band and I currently attend recording and mixing classes at Hocking Technical College, My goal is to eventually be the engineer and record high quality albums for the band as well.

    Session Guitarist

    May, 2010 - May, 2011

    World Harvest Youth Group

In the past, I did some volunteer work for World Harvest Ministries. I played guitar for the youth group, they put on live music performances every Wednesday night. This was sort of the same gig that I had with "Saphire Jade", between each Wednesday performance I was responsible for memorizing and rehearsing the setlist, the only difference is that World Harvest provided a lot more stage experience.

    Stand In Guitarist

    Jan, 2009 - Dec, 2009

    Sapphire Jade

I briefly worked as a stand in guitarist for a top 40s cover band called "Sapphire Jade". This was the first exposure I had to working in bands and is probably the reason I'm still in music today. I worked every week memorizing and perfecting predetermined setlists with the band then we would meet up and rehearse the songs. We played shows including a set at Potbelly's diner and an in home show put on by our performance coach.
