Jazz Voice with Ashley P.

Hello! My name is Ashley, and I’ve been singing professionally for over 15 years. I strive to create a lesson environment that is open and honest, where my students are never afraid to ask questions or try something new. I am always happy to explain concepts in a different way and I encourage improvisation and creativity in addition to healthy technique and strong musicianship. My goal is to help my students reach their full potential while having a great time doing it! I accept students of all levels and ages 8 and up. Some recent accomplishments include: *Performing on national television with Keith Urban *Performing on NBC 6 in the Mix *Performing with Grammy Award winner Dave Holland with the Frost Concert Jazz *Completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music with a full tuition scholarship *Multiple scholarship offers from universities to study music *YoungArts winner for jazz voice and popular voice I am constantly working to improve my teaching skills by keeping up with the latest pedagogical research. I love sharing new tips and techniques with my students! I am experienced in teaching many genres and styles including Jazz, musical theater, pop, rock, and R&B. I encourage my students to explore new styles and apply good technique to any style they may choose to sing. In-studio equipment: Benjamin Adams DP400 digital piano and bench, Roland AC-40 Acoustic Chorus Amp, Shure sm58 microphone, music stands, large library of scores for repertoire exploration. *Please note you MUST have a piano or keyboard for in-home voice lessons.
