M.I.N.K.H.

I donated my time and taught guitar group classes (or 6 or less) to troubled or underprivileged youth every Saturday for 2 years. The Program called M.I.N.K.H. or Musical Instruments N' Kids Hands was very special. I would teach to kids that never had a chance to pick up an instrument before. The main goal was to get the students familiar with the instrument they chose, but we also discussed making goals, how to practice, and building confidence. They kids would come in shy and barley said a word after 6 weeks they knew how to play a song, smiled and talked with all of us instructors and they held their heads a little bit higher every week. Such an amazing transformation to see!

Established in 1948, the Audio Engineering Society, Inc. (AES) draws its membership from amongst engineers, scientists, other individuals with an interest or involvement in the professional audio industry. The membership largely comprises engineers developing devices or products for audio, and persons working in audio content production. It also includes acousticians, audiologists, academics, and those in other disciplines related to audio. The AES is the only world-wide professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology.

West Coast Songwriters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization. Founded in 1979, WCS has grown into one of the most active music associations in the USA, offering more than 20 events per month. Whether your goal is personal expression or to make a living in the music industry, knowing how to write, or recognize a well crafted song is key to your success. At WCS, members establish important relationships, both professionally and personally, that enhance and accelerate their development. Music ceases to be a solitary pursuit and becomes a shared endeavor through the focus, feedback, collaboration, contacts/networking and support that WCS provides.

NAMM is the not-for-profit association that promotes the pleasures and benefits of making music and strengthens the $17 billion global music products industry. NAMM's activities and programs are designed to promote music making to people of all ages.
