Curtis is a fantastic teacher! He is patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging. He teaches the type of songs you want to learn and not some song from a guitar guidebook. My first lesson was two hours and it quickly went by. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and am looking forward to my next lesson. If you are in search of a guitar instructor, I would highly recommend him.

I can play any number of styles from blues and country to hard rock and heavy metal I've been playing guitar for about 15 years now. I know music theory very well and I'm great with making the theory part fun to learn while teaching to play a style that the student prefers. I'm an easy going guy and really patient. I make the promise to every student that I will give them every bit of effort and support I can to propel them in their music career. I'm one of those people who gets along with everybody and I like to make my lessons fun for each student.

About Garrett

I've been playing guitar for about 15 years now and I've played in just about every type of band. After playing in a metal band for about 5 years I switched over to a classic rock group for a couple years. In both of those groups I was lead guitar/lead vocals. Now for the last few years I've bee

I tried learning guitar a number of years ago. Garrett was great getting me started back into guitar. He quickly got me going with some simple chords and techniques. He has a strong understanding of guitar and makes it easy to understand. + he can play anything!
Derrick
What can I say about Garrett. I have never met a better guitarist in my 20 years of playing. Taking lessons with him was one of the best decisions I ever made. I would pay him double. No matter the guitar style, Garrett seems to have played it for years and has real insight on any of the different styles from Blues, to Country, to Rock, to Classic Rock, to Metal. He helped me not just learn riffs or songs but scales and has bug in teaching me more advanced music theory as well. He truly is the perfect mix of good person and amazing guitarist. Don’t miss the chance to learn from one of the best no matter your skill level!

Very chill dude, very knowledgeable, prepared, and willing to work with students interests.
Ryan J.
I started with Peter when I was 13 years old and continued taking weekly lessons until I was 19. In those 7 years Peter helped take my playing from an intermediate level to a near expert level. Our weekly meetings ranged from just learning new songs, music theory, or just jamming over backing tracks we would create. Peter is knowledgable in every form of music. In our years of lessons we enjoyed playing classic rock, blues, jazz, classical, and gypsy jazz. Peter was able to walk me teach me through the beginning levels of Music Theory.

Most importantly through our 7 years together, became was able to take me from a very shy musician to someone who was very confident on stage playing at different bars. Peter went from being a teacher to a very close friend as he helped me grow. Although I do not take lessons with him anymore due to being away at college, I keep in touch with Peter every time I am home.

I would highly recommend Peter to anyone at any level guitar playing. He has the patience someone needs if you're just starting out and the expertise to help take even some of the best players to the next level.

All ages are welcome! I've been playing guitar for 15 years, and been involved in multiple groups and bands (playing guitar, bass, drumset, marching drums, and sometimes vocals) since 2008. I teach fundamentals of playing (finger-picking or with a pick), how to read tabs, alternate tunings, chord structure, the importance of scales, and can help you learn to pick up your favorite songs just by listening to them! If you are interested, I can also show you how to get started on recording your own music!

About James

I'm a guitar/marching drum teacher from Oxford, AL. I've been playing guitar for 15 years and marching percussion for 11 years. I am currently employed as an electrician on a US Navy submarine in New London, CT, but music has always been my main passion. I teach guitar (beginner to intermediate)

"Exceptional, musically rich learning

Nick is a terrific, terrific teacher whose main goal is to nurture my son’s love of music and instill the idea that learning to play guitar or drums is not hard, it’s “unfamiliar.” Robby has been learning from Nick since he was 7 years old. I love watching Nick balance solid technique with fun. Like taking a contemporary song that my son loves and teaching him to play a portion of it. Or inviting another student (or sometimes even a professional musician) to sit in on a lesson and jam with Robby. Nick is teaching the whole person, not just their fingers on the guitar. He really cares and I would recommend him to anyone!"

Your Guide to Learning Guitar in Sacramento

Learning to play guitar takes time and effort, but it is also lots of fun and well worth the work. Sacramento is a great place to take guitar lessons because there are many local resources available to inspire you and help you sharpen your skills. With this in mind, start your guitar lessons in Sacramento and become a successful guitarist.

You have no need to worry if your guitar develops a problem and needs repair, there are many local shops in Sacramento that can fix guitars or sell you a new one Kline Music, Tim’s Music, and Skip’s Music are among the most popular and sell high quality new and used music instruments. For repairs, they ensure they set up the instruments to the manufacturers' specifications. Don’t let a small repair stand in the way of your guitar lessons in Sacramento- local experts have you covered!

Sacramento is also home to a vibrant arts community where musicians can check out live performances or even sign up to play. A few popular venues you should check out include Ace of Spades, Old Ironsides, Harlow’s, and Crawdad’s River Cantina.

There are quite a few annual events in Sacramento, including a music festival. This event fills the streets of Sacramento and local venues host of bands for all across the genre spectrum, and is a great way to see professional guitarists in their true element. Check out their website for more information regarding this year’s dates and lineup: http://sacmusicfest.com/

It is important to note that before you begin your music lessons, you should be well prepared way before for you to have a positive progress in your guitar lessons. Some of the things you should do or know before you begin your guitar lessons in Sacramento are such as:

You have to be patient and focused. Some common problems, such as pain in your fingertips, should not be the reasons for dropping your guitar lessons. This is a common problem to everyone starting guitar lessons until they develop some form of hardness on their fingers. Be patient during the process of developing your skills. You should remember that the journey of being a musician does not end. As long as you are a musician, there are new things to learn and new skills. The sooner you realize this fact, the easier it will be for you to take the next step to reach the next level.

Don’t look at your calendar. Unsuccessful guitar players are usually concerned to answer such questions as, how much time is needed for one to be a great guitarist. They count days. Although it is common to wonder on such issues, focusing on time will delay the process of achieving your goals on playing guitar. Good guitar playing results are not determined by the number of times you practice but rather how well you practice. Still, counting days will move your attention from important matters such as how to practice guitar effectively.
