About Ariel O.
Hello there! My name is Ariel. I graduated from the University of Jamestown with a Bachelors in Music Education and Flute performance. I am primarily a flute family specialist: piccolo, flute, Alto and Bass flute are all in my wheelhouse. Through my years of schooling I have learned many other instruments and also am very skilled in voice, so I am qualified to teach most categories. I taught in the North Dakota Public School system in very small school districts for several years. My greatest strength while teaching was working one on one with each individual to get my students to a much higher level of playing and musicianship. I truly believe meeting each individual where they currently are and going from there is the best policy for growing as musician.
I also believe that in order to be the best teacher I can be I must continue to grow as a musician as well. So, I too continue to work to improve my skills, and play with great ensembles to keep my skills sharp and ever growing. At the moment I play in 4 different community ensembles around the state of North Dakota and also participate annually in IMC's Adult Community Music Camp. Typically you will find me playing the flute and piccolo, but occasionally I pick up the Tenor Sax to play in Jazz combo, and when the season is right you will find me lugging around my Euphonium to play all of the Regional Tuba Christmas Events in North Dakota annually and from time to time I play in brass choirs. I truly believe the act of making music with an ensemble is a major key to success and fulfillment on your journey as a musician.

I have known Ariel for many years. She is a tremendous musician, and a wonderful person!

Ariel was very passionate about her conducting. She was determined to help us learn the material and play the music at our best. Ariel came in everyday with a positive attitude that was contagious, she made the band room a better place.

Ms. O was a student teacher for my band several years ago and she was fantastic! She has always been very encouraging to students and is a very inspiring role model and teacher.

Ms. O is really dedicated and you can tell she loves what she does! She's so sweet and talented, she's a very passionate and knowing teacher! Recommended!

Ms. Oster was my student teacher in middle school and never failed to make my day by encouraging me to KEEP PLAYING! :) She is also an extremely talented flute player and any student would be lucky to work with her to improve their instrument skills.

Ariel was a student teacher of mine in choir and I loved her! She put the needs of her students way before her own! Her optimism and light-heartedness made it very easy to work with her! Ariel always makes sure her students are comfortable
and learning at their own speed! I would definitely
recommend her if you are looking for the best teacher out there!

She was a fun and awesome teacher! When she was at Minnewaukan public school she always had really good advice when I was one of her students. She helped me a lot in choir as well with the troubles I had. She also helped a lot of the other students to!

Where to start? Her optimism is her greatest feature when it comes to music and teaching. She really helped me through tough times when I felt my music skills weren't great. She is a great teacher and has a great friendly vibe!

I took flute lessons from Ariel a couple years ago. Ariel plays flute beautifully. I was a beginning student and she was very knowledgeable about teaching flute, very encouraging and I got a good foundation in playing flute from her. I would highly recommend Ariel as a teacher. She also made it fun.

Ms. Oster was the best music instructor my Grandson ever had, he plays the Trumpet and plays it still today. She introduced him to the International Music a camp that is held at The Peace Gardens during the summer. Ms. Oster was the most positive influence on him to date. I often wish she could work with him again. It is a privilege and an honor to give her a review..thank you

She's a good instructor on how to play an instrument quickly. Her optimism is very nice. Has very good patience. I would recommend her.

Ariel is very versatile on her teachings, from brass instruments, to woodwind instruments, to singing. Her ability to be able to teach many instruments and vocal skills is amazing and I'm glad that I was able to be taught all that by her. I highly recommend her and you'll have fun and learn alot guranteed!
Ariel is very successful working with students one on one! She chooses music that is challenging but also allows her students to be successful. Ariel is a very accomplished musician and performs in various ensembles to maintain her skills and continue to grow.

Ariel is a very accomplished musician!! She’s always working to make herself better! Her strength is definitely working one on one with students of any age.
