Music Performance

Levels Taught:
As a performing artist, I still can be found on the music circuit on a weekly basis. I have been performing professionally for over 35 years and can provide a wealth of experience regarding: equipment, stage presence, contract negotiation, band construction and how to keep it together once you have one. I can give you the do's and don'ts. I've played in cover bands, original bands, blues, heavy metal, tribute, acoustic and everything in between so if you have questions I can help you or point you in the right direction.

As a third generation musician, I've been playing professionally and teaching for over 25 years. I've had years of private lessons, graduated from GIT in Hollywood, taken college music courses and continue to perform, record, and teach music. YOU can have fun, learning songs that YOU like, or you can learn music theory (the explanation of music) or study different styles from rock to pop to hard core to blues, funk etc. All at YOUR pace. Many of my students, started from the point where they had never picked up an instrument and have gone on to tour or earn full music scholarships. It doesn't matter if it's a young girl wanting to learn some Disney Artist or some burly blue collar worker wanting to learn some Clapton: YOU can have fun learning guitar while improving at a rapid rate. Contact me, I'll make learning music and guitar a very painless process.

*** Lesson Details ***
I'm serious and passionate about my students learning their instrument and becoming great musicians, however, I also want it to be an enjoyable process. You should look forward to your lessons but know I'm going to expect you to practice as well. I use a combination of my own curriculum and books that are based on the fundamentals of music. We can learn to read tablature or read traditional music. A excellent way to pick music at a quick pace is by learning songs in the style you like, while learning about the keys, scales, arpeggios, and chord construction once you're able to play some songs. After 3 or 6 months you will be playing a basic repertoire of songs that interest you while continuing to progress at a steady pace in the understanding of music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
North County Rehearsal Studio is a rehearsal hall with private lesson room, we have the amps to plug into and audio equipment so we can listen and learn from the music YOU like!!!  I can also come to YOUR house if the rehearsal located in Brea is too far.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my students to have a guitar or bass so they can practice at home with. I could bring or provide a small practice amp and a music stand and some study materials. I teach in Orange County and I live in L.A County so If I need to come to your house I can cover a big area.

*** Specialties ***
During the course of my 20 plus years of teaching, I have had to teach individuals of all levels. I have had to teach little girls Hanna Montana, and blue collar workers--Eric Clapton. Styles include, Rock, Pop, Metal, Jazz, Rockabilly, Country, Spanish, Beginning Classical and ETC!

Chris's music, Downey Music, Music Maker, La Mirada Music, Rock it Music, Music Alley, City of El Monte

Upon graduating from the Guitar Institute of technology in 1985, I started a career in teaching music that took me to a variety of stores across So Cal. During that time I've taught students of all ages and ethnicities. I have taught many children with learning disabilities such as autism, speech impediments, physical challenges, Tourette syndrome, and dyslexia. I find teaching these students a rewarding experience. I find my strength lies in the ability to make people feel at ease when they're learning something new to them. As a music lover of many different styles, I can relate to a large population. What matters is what YOU like. If your playing the music you enjoy you'll want to keep playing! I'll help you get there!

Best Guitar Teacher!

I am 20, and I have been taking lessons with tony for almost 4 month. He really is a great teacher. He really makes guitar easy to learn and always give you confidence about learning new things. He is cool and nice, able to get you through all kinds of difficulties of learning guitar. Give hime a shot, if you really want to play guitar. He is better than any Youtube or on-line stuff.

Best Guitar Coach Ever!

I've been taking lessons from Anthony G. for over a month now, and his ability to make the lessons easy to understand has helped my guitar playing tenfold. His method of teaching makes it easy to understand guitar fundamentals and theory. He's a great guitar player and by far the best teacher I've ever had. Anthony is not just a teacher, but a guitar coach and mentor! I would recommend him to anyone that's interested in taking lessons.

Tony has been my sons (age 8) instructor for months and we can not say enough positive things about him. My son is very shy and Tony was able to make him comfortable from his very first lesson. I have seen Tony play with his own band and he is an impressive showman. I can see where he can be able to teach and be comfortable with any level of player - from beginner to advanced. Thanks again Tony!

Excellent teacher

Although Tony has many years of guitar playing experience, he has the ability to speak in terms a new student can understand. His patience is incredible, when you become frustrated he has the ability to help you work through it. I highly recommend Tony to the beginner up to the highly advanced player.
