    About Annie

ANE (an acronym for "A New Era" and pronounced "Ann-nee") represents the evolution of music, fashion and art in the 21st century. She makes music that is subtle, yet heady and equally consuming. Her enchanting mystique shines through her hypnotic songwriting, and her sultry vocals pull you in over the unique blend of synth-pop and r&b/soul. Raised in a strict, Korean-American home in New Jersey with no musical background, ANE grew up without a TV for the better half of her childhood. Perhaps by design, ANE still managed to find her way as a recording artist. With inspiration she found as a kid from The Beatles, Stevie Wonder' s Hotter Than July, and TLC's CrazySexyCool, ANE grew into a singer/songwriter that embodies a sheer contrast of contemporary and vintage sounds. Classically trained in college, her fusion of electronic, pop and r&b/soul is filtered through the ethos of musical inspirations like Donny Hathaway, Etta James, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and Nina Simone.
