I am a current elementary music teacher who is also a professional pianist, singer, and clarinet player. I graduated from Goshen College with a bachelors in Music Education. Students can expect to love lessons and improve immensely in technical skills as well as aural skills (playing by ear). Being an educator allows me to tailor lessons specifically to student levels and learning styles. Students can guarantee a unique and positive learning environment. I studied piano for 17 years, clarinet for 12 years, and voice for 6 years. I can teach students to read music, achieve musical excellence, and challenge students to create and explore songs through musical patterns and chord progressions. My flexible teaching allows students to enjoy lessons yet holistically progress in their music skills. For me, lessons are all about the student. You are important. I care what you are interested in and want you to have the best experience possible. I personally gravitate toward classical music, however, teach a variety of music including jazz, contemporary, classical, and more. Take lessons with me and I will foster a lifelong joy and passion for music making and creating built on a foundation of music theory and technique.
