Violin with Angie K.

Welcome, I'm Ms. Angie! I began my musical journey at the age of 7. I have studied classical piano for 12 years, and violin for 10. During undergrad, I studied under top professors of piano and violin performance at the University of Texas at Austin, and was a member of the university orchestra. I have taught beginner-intermediate piano and violin students of all ages for four years. My teaching style centers around not only what works for each individual student, but what they enjoy. Learning doesn't have to be an endless loop of scales, memorizing chords, and sonatas from hundreds of years ago (unless that's what you like!). I will work with you to achieve your goals, continually improve, and maybe even impress your friends by playing that piece you always wanted to learn! I absolutely love music theory, creating compositions in my free time, and the pursuit of continual learning. Over the past five years, I have been able to expand my knowledge and teach myself how to play classical guitar, ukelele, erhu, and the gayageum. Hopefully I'll be able to use those same principles and learning techniques to help you become a better musician! I look forward to meeting you and helping you to discover your own learning and musical styles.
