About Andy J.
My name is Andy and I am a musician, educator, and composer in the metro-Detroit area. After picking up the trumpet 20 years ago in 5th grade band class, I became enthralled with the way music spurs our sense of community and creativity. I have taught as a Michigan public school music teacher for 10 years, allowing me to share my love of music with students every day in the community of my classroom. I have also served as an Artist in Residence through the National Park Service (Great Smoky Mountains in 2018 and Hawai'i Volcanoes in 2019), sharing my creative vision of the ways music interacts with the natural sound world around us. I am thrilled that music is both my profession and passion, and I am excited to share that with you!
