    About Andrew D.

I am a saxophonist but also play the clarinet, flute, piano, EWI, and compose/arrange all different types of music. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Jazz Composition/Performance. As of recently I have recorded my debut album "The Life of an Aquarius" at the renown recording studio The Carriage House in Stamford CT with 14 other professional musicians. I am also playing around NYC with my own group at venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I have also background teaching at a music program called Project Music to kids who could not afford private lessons, and were given the opportunity to play music and learn from professional musicians. I am open to the students needs, and want my students to feel that they can express themselves in front of me on what they are looking to achieve by studying with me. Consistent practice and performing is what has lead me to my current musical success. At Berklee I studied with some of the greatest jazz musicians in the world such as Bill Pierce, George Garzone, Ed Tomassi, Darren Barrett, Greg Hopkins, and many more. They all taught me about the importance of constant practice and learning and growing at your craft. Overall, I have had a lot of musical experiences and want to pass them on to my students so they can experience the joy of performing in any musical setting.

    Experience

    Intern for Woodwinds

    Jul, 2014 - Jul, 2014

    Stamford Young Artists Jazz Camp

Worked at a summer camp interning alongside master teachers such as Joyce Di Camillo, John Mastroianni, Thierry Arpino, Chip Jackson, and Tony Kadleck. Would assist John in woodwind workshops thereby helping him demonstrate concepts about jazz music and playing the saxophone in jazz to younger people. In the ensemble setting I was asked to contribute original music to challenge the students in their performance of jazz music.

    Woodwind Instructor

    May, 2016 - Aug, 2018

    Project Music

I worked at Project Music as a woodwind instructor for saxophone, flute, and clarinet. My job was to teach all the kids who played those instruments how to play the instrument properly, read music, and play as an ensemble. Also, I was responsible for whatever music they had to prepare for in the setting of a concert, that it was prepared at the most professional level to present to people attending their music concerts.
