Play the flute like a pro. Learn from a flutist from the Peabody Conservatory of Music!
My teaching philosophy is to inspire, educate, and guide my students towards their musical goals and dreams. My job as an educator is to provide the necessary information, advice, and inspiration to students who wish to improve their skills on flute and increase their potential for musical expression. Students who choose to learn how to play flute vary greatly in age, educational and cultural backgrounds. I recognize that every student is different and may require a unique teaching approach. In the past, I have worked privately with beginner, intermediate, and advanced students (children and adults), international students with little or no English skills, undergraduate and graduate flute majors (at The Peabody Conservatory of Music), and taught Class Flute and Flute Ensemble (at the State University of New York at Fredonia and University of Nevada- Las Vegas, respectively). These teaching experiences helped me to develop my own educational methods that I improved over the years. I look forward to sharing them with the students here, on TakeLessons.com!

Anastasia is an amazing musician and teacher. Her playing is inspiring, with perfect technique and the best use of tone, color and phrasing that I have ever heard from a flute.
I am am adult learner, a former music education major returning to music after a long break. I love to learn and value great teachers. I have been blessed to have a handful of great teacher for many of the things I have learned in life.
I knew my first lesson that Anastasia is a wonderful teacher. Within minutes of beginning to play for her, she identified several of the areas that I have struggled with for years. She came up with solutions and helped me begin making progress immediately.
As a very busy working adult, I appreciate that we always have a good lesson and I finish each lesson knowing that I am taking away something of value. Anastasia has tailored my lessons for what I need at this point in my musical journey, and has helped me to enjoy playing. I count it as one of the blessings in my life that I found Anastasia as a teacher.

Anastasia is a very talented flutist and an equally talented instructor. She was very targeted in her approach, set learning expectations and focused on growth and improvement. She was flexible with scheduling changes and working with my daughter's band director's specific music selections. She is also very kind and gentle in her approach. My daughter loves working with her.

Anastasia is an exceptional flutist, musician, and teacher. A well-trained flutist herself, she understands very well how to train musicians from the beginning stages to the most advanced levels. She is very patient, kind, and gives all of her students the attention they deserve. Anastasia studied in Moscow, Russia, and then earned college degrees at the Peabody Conservatory and UCLA. Her diverse educational history provided her with a unique set of abilities and is able to adapt to any type of student. Highly recommended!
