I Graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors in Music Education from Brigham Young University - Idaho. I started learning and studying voice in my teen years. I taught my first after school program - a musical involving 40 cast members - right after I graduated from high school, and have been teaching lessons ever since. In college I picked up piano as well as several different string instruments including the guitar. During the day I teach choir in the public school classroom. I have a lot of experience teaching privately. Because I am a music teacher I have assisted and held many auditions, so I can help my students in preparing for those. I am fun and energetic, and very hard working, and I strive to portray those qualities to my students as they approach learning music. *** Lesson Details *** Music should be fun as well as academic. In Guitar and Piano I like to take time to teach skills and warm ups for about 10 - 15 minutes, then teach theory for about 10 - 15 minutes, and the rest of the time is devoted to working on songs that refine those skills. Vocal Lessons are about 10 - 15 minutes of warm-ups and ear training, and then the rest of the time is devoted to song preparation. *** Studio Equipment *** I have a keyboard for piano lessons. I have my ipod hooked up to a sound system to play karaoke music for vocal lessons. *** Specialties *** Beginning Piano - I like the Faber & Faber method the most, again focusing on good technique and skill building
