    About Amy A.

    (45)
Dr. Amy A. is an online private cello teacher in NYC. She completed her Doctorate in Cello Performance at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory and her Master's in Cello Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. When she started cello lessons, her parents drove her two hours every week to the nearest cello teacher, so she appreciates the convenience of being able to connect with students online! Whether it's because you have a packed schedule and online lessons are more convenient, or you just don't have access to a cello teacher in your area, she enjoys connecting with students all over the country, of all ages, and all playing levels. Her teaching philosophy is simple: make consistent small steps! Maybe you haven't played your cello since high school and want to pick back up where you left off. Maybe you've always wanted to play cello but never got around to it. Maybe you've been playing for years and your high school orchestra isn't as challenging as you wish it was. Are you preparing for an audition? As a former member of a professional orchestra, she has been in your shoes before. She's also seasoned at preparing students for recitals and competitions. Her local students have received top scores at NYSSMA! Are you just looking for a new hobby and to have some fun? No pressure. We can find songs that keep you interested and engaged at an easier pace. She will help you reach your goals with compassion and expertise. Note: By signing up for lessons with Dr. Amy A., you agree to follow Takelessons' 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy.

Amy was timely, professional, and engaged my daughter in starting cello. She is knowledgeable and I’d definitely recommend her.

Very informative and very helpful. It was my first lesson and was left with the feeling that if I can follow instructions, I'll be able to play the cello, moderately, some day.
