Having earned Masters Degrees from The Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University, Alyssa was named as two of "DC's 12 Stage Dynamos."

Alyssa should be familiar to most Washington theatre-goers, having recently appeared in Ford's Theatre's production of the Tony-nominated Broadway hit, Come From Away. That same year, she received the Helen Hayes Award for Best Actress in a Play, for her portrayal of the iconic Maggie the Cat, in Round House Theatre's production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. In 2017/18, Alyssa will appear in The Kennedy Center's World Premiere production of Digging Up Dessa, as well as the US Premiere of Botticelli In the Fire, at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.

Most widely known for his portrayal of Ensign Baker in AMC's revolutionary war drama, TURN: Washington's Spies (available on Netflix), Thomas has been seen on HBO's VEEP, as well as CBS's Madam Secretary and Elementary. In the DC area, Thomas has recently appeared in Angels in America at Round House Theatre, Watch on the Rhine at Arena Stage, and The Death of a Salesman at Ford's Theatre, where he can be seen this winter, in the US Premiere of Timberlake Wertenbaker's Jefferson's Garden.

Alyssa is the best. I had a little less than a month to pick two contrasting monologues for an audition. Alyssa sent me a monologue that’s was absolutely amazing. Alyssa is patient, knowledgeable, and a ton of fun. Completely down to earth. (Judgment free zone). I would refer Alyssa to any and everybody. Amazing experience.

First session was basically a meet and greet, and I must say, she's got a pretty awesome personality as well as a very open and free flow vibe.

Alyssa is great. She has an in-depth knowledge of multiple teaching techniques that will help you improve as an actor. She is also extremely flexible and will tailor lessons to focus on what aspects of acting you wish to improve and what teaching methods help the most.

The children had a wonderful experience as a beginner in acting. They were comfortable with her coaching style and looking forward to next week.

Alyssa is AWESOME! She coached me on an audition piece and her insight was invaluable. I booked the job and I'm sure it was in part because of the work we did together. She has a wonderful energy and a keen eye, and creates a safe, welcoming space to play and try new things. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a coach- whether you're new to acting or are already established.

Alyssa has coached me on dozens of professional auditions, helping me refine and specify my work, and raising my preparedness to the highest levels. There is no one I trust more to help me improve, and the positivity she brings to the work room is contagious.

Alyssa was extremely practiced and knew exactly how to help me strengthen my performance without ever making me feel like I had failed. She instructed me with incredible grace and efficiency, even given our close deadline. Even when I brought her material neither of us had seen before, she expertly found the best route to telling the story and maximizing the effect of the language.
