Music Performance with Allie K.

Music has always played an important role in my life. I come from a very musical family. My grandfather played clarinet in the Marine Corps Band and started a family polka band. My father grew up playing in the polka band and I remember going to all of their gigs as a kid. At the age of five, I started performing the band too. My aunt was a music teacher which inspired me to go into the field as well. I have experience as a general music teacher K- 8th grade, have taught music classes for elementary, middle, and high school students with special needs, taught middle school string lessons, as well as elementary, middle, high school level band lessons, and am an elementary school choir director. My goal as a private music teacher is to make this experience meaningful, enjoyable, and inspiring. Music is everywhere and under my instruction students will be given the skills necessary to develop a practice routine, discover and experience playing a variety of music styles/genres, and use musical terms to describe the music they hear.
