Music Is my passion. I am an aspiring film score composer. I have been playing guitar for 14 years, upright bass for 10 years and bass guitar for 8 years. With 5 years of college music experience as a music education major, there is a lot I can teach you. I have been teaching music lessons for 10 years and I would love to share my musical knowledge with you.
I am very disappointed. I thought my first lesson went very well, and I was looking forward to next week's lesson, as I thought the prior week's lesson went very well and I felt I learned a lot. I was contacted by Allie today and told she would be refusing to teach me going forward. Her reason was that I was an older male. I don't even know what to do with that. I would have understood if she had refused to take me as a student beforehand, as I stated my correct age and gender when I signed up. But refusing me as a student based solely on attributes I cannot control AFTER accepting me as a student, taking my money, and teaching a full lesson is ... unprofessional at best. I understand comfort levels, but I mean, come on. She did offer to refer me to male friends of hers that could teach me, but I think it is best I walk away from this entirely. Needless to say, I will be seeking a refund for the remainder of the classes I paid for. I am very disappointed by this whole experience and I feel a bit betrayed by both takelessons.com, and Allie.+ Read More
Very good at helping improve musically and a great personality!
Hi, this is Allie's dad. I'm responding to the previous review. This person was 21 miles away and at least a 40 minute drive in traffic. Allie's profile stated within 10 miles. It was clearly a miscommunication, and Allie apologized and even offered a free lesson at our house as compensation. Driving an hour and 20 minutes is not feasible. This person never took a lesson from Allie.+ Read More
I paid 150 for lessons 2 weeks ago for Allie. A week later she cancelled her first lesson with my 12 year old daughter due to not feeling well, which is fine. Another week later, the day of the next scheduled lesson she asked for my address at 1 and at 3 tells me I live 12 miles away and she will only travel 10 miles away because that is an hour out of her time that she can be teaching and that either she has to charge me more or I will have to drive to her. No where on the website does it say that she only travels 10 miles and the website let me chose in home lessons. My problem is this... A professional would have asked for the address and checked the location before cancelling and making a 12 year old little girl who has her hear set on guitar lessons wait 2 weeks to only be told she won't travel this far in the first place. Very disappointing.+ Read More
