Learn to play piano with good technique while having fun from a teacher with 17+ years experience

My name is Alejandra and I’ve been teaching piano for over 17 years in New York. My goal as a teacher is to share my love of music with my students. Piano lessons shouldn’t feel like a chore or something a child is being forced into. Playing piano should be fun and something you look forward to and it’s my job to show my students the magic of music. As important as it is to make lessons enjoyable and fun, it is equally important to learn to play the correct way with relaxed and proper technique and to understand and learn how to read music. Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to contact me for further information.

    About Alejandra D.

I began my piano studies at Manhattan School of Music at the age of three with my father, Professor Ubaldo Diaz-Acosta. There I began my studies in piano, viola, theory and sight-singing. I was also in the chorus and orchestra which was a joy to be apart of. My father is a concert pianist and professor and that meant I grew up hearing music night and day which I wouldn’t have wanted any other way. I grew up listening to the way he taught and I’ve learned so much from just watching him teach. I graduated from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts as a piano major and from Queens College - Aaron Copland Conservatory with a degree in Music. It’s not just about teaching students to play the correct notes, dynamics and rhythms; it’s also about teaching them how to be musical and how to tell stories in their playing. One of my goals as a teacher is for my students to find happiness in piano. I want to share my love of music and the instrument.
