I'm a baritone saxophonist and a die-hard jazz enthusiast living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I graduated from Bard College with a BA in music, specifically jazz performance and contemporary composition. In addition to saxophone, I also play clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, and piano (I'm also convinced that I can play the drums, but my friends disagree). Since moving to Brooklyn, I've entrenched myself in the New York music scene, playing mainly jazz, funk and pop, as well as composing my own music on the side. In addition to performing, I teach regularly, giving in-home lessons to my students throughout the NYC area. I teach all levels of saxophone, as well as beginner to intermediate piano, and beginner flute and clarinet. I offer a rich curriculum with my own set of teaching materials such as, goal calendars, practice logs, and before-and-after recordings. If you are thinking of booking lessons, don't hesitate to contact me via Take Lessons. That way I can ensure that I have space in my studio and that you will get the most out of your experience with me. Can't wait to work with you!

My son, Justin, started taking lessons with Alden about a year and a half ago, and absolutely loved it! Justin has always loved music, and I think that lessons with Alden have taken this up a notch. It's so great to hear Justin's progress and for him to hear it too! Thanks Alden!

Alden is a wonderful young man! Very professional and always prepared, he keeps lessons interesting and fun for my daughter Chanda, who was just a beginner last year. Now she’s playing all kinds of songs and filling our home with music!

If I were to recommend a saxophone teacher to anyone, it would 100% be Alden! My son has been taking lessons with Alden for about 6 months now and I can notice great strides being made in both his playing and overall confidence. Alden's encouraging nature coupled with his love and knowledge of his instrument and music in general creates an incredibly nourishing learning environment for a student. If you are looking for a new saxophone teacher for yourself or your child, you have found the one!
