Study the double bass with a young professional with graduate level degrees from USC

I have studied extensively with some of the most highly acclaimed pedagogues in the country, and I am well-versed in teaching and explaining their techniques and ideas, having earned degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and USC Thornton School of Music. I am experienced in both French and German bow playing and teaching. We will work together to build you a strong foundation of music that will include reading music, ear training, music theory, bass technique, and more. I am happy to teach any level and age of student. I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well. Shoot me a message, and we'll get started!

Hello! I am a professional double bassist currently based in Los Angeles, California, and have been playing for 18 years. I have a Bachelor's in Music from Oberlin Conservatory, and a Master's in Music and Graduate Certificate from the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, where I studied with highly acclaimed pedagogues. I regularly freelance in the LA area, as well as teach students of all ages and levels for both French and German bow holds. I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well, which I am happy to communicate through if English is not your first language. Whether you are interested in learning how to play bass casually, or to study seriously, I am open and willing to provide whatever you are looking for. I can offer knowledge in advanced techniques of bass playing, as well as music theory and ear training.
