    About AJ S.

I grew up Michigan where I starting dancing at 10 years old. By the time I was 15, I was student teaching dance classes and by 16 I was teaching my own classes. I went to Oakland University in Rochester, MI and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. I was awarded dance scholarships and the Maggie Allessee Choreography Award my senior year. While in college, I started teaching dance at an after school program at Michigan Technical Academy. After I graduated in April 2013, I moved to New York City to pursue my love for performing, teaching, and choreographing dance. I was a supervising instructor and dance instructor at Fit 4 Life NYC. Currently, I am a lead teaching artist for competition and recreational dance instructor for theDance Centers. I have performed with The Median Movement for the premiere of "JACK Rally". I have presented my own work, "Perfect. Well, not entirely perfect.", as part of WAXworks at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn.
