I am a professional guitar instructor with over 10 years teaching experience and a college graduate from both Nassau Community College and SUNY Stonybrook where my focus was on music performance and education. I currently teach guitar from the beginner level all the way up to advanced studies.
My students can benefit from me from my conceptual approach to teaching.I teach basic concepts and from there my students can apply these concepts to a lot of other things they are learning and working on.
*** Lesson Details ***
My students can expect a very well rounded lesson. I structure the lessons in a four point formula. The first part of the session is tuning and warming up properly. Next part we work basics out of our method books. Then comes the fun part of the lesson,I let the student choose a song that they want to work on and I show it to them note by note. The final part of the lesson I teach improvisation techniques and jamming. All of this can be tailored to each individuals needs.
I use the Warner Brothers 21st. Century guitar method books one through three as a general starting point. After these are completed the student can branch off in whatever direction they want. As an instructor I am somewhat strict but at the same time kind and very encouraging. If a student truly wants to learn he or she will benefit greatly from me.
