As a teacher, I strive to instill a sense of wonder in the arts, as well as appreciation for all kinds of music in my students. As a saxophone instructor, I focus on a solid foundation of the basics (scales, overtones) in tandem with growing musicality. I have been teaching saxophone lessons and masterclasses for 7 years. I am a professional performer as well and have performed with local acts in the Northeast Wisconsin area; such as Water City Jazz Orchestra and Big Band Reunion; Minneapolis and Chicago based acts, such as the Bill Simenson Orchestra and Matt Kavanaugh Quartet; and larger national acts such as the Four Tops and Temptations. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music from UW-Oshkosh and a Master's in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University.
