Ministry of Swing is a unique studio located in Hampden, one of Baltimore City's most popular neighborhoods. A historic theater-turned-movement arts space, Abby creates fun and creative group and private lessons for her students, focusing on marked improvements for all her students while having fun with lots of opportunities to socialize with other swing dancers who share the passion of dancing!

I work with various public schools in Baltimore County to teach 5th grade students basic ballroom dances, social etiquette and verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

I work with my students to observe where they're at in their dancing and where they'd like to go - evaluating body movement, technique and partnering skills and creating tangible steps to help every student meet their individual goals. I use a variety of movement drills and incorporate lots of dancing to solidify any and all focused goals in any given lesson. I combine fun with productivity to ensure a positive learning experience.

For over 20 years, Abby has always followed her passion for dance. With a classical dance background in ballet, tap and jazz, she quickly fell in love with partner dancing after being introduced to Argentine tango, lindy hop and blues in college. It was by happenstance that she stumbled upon West Coast Swing, and serendipity has treated her well ever since. West Coast Swing quickly became her passion and has been her focus for the past seven years.

Abby brings an amazing passion to her lessons.  I was a complete novice and in a very short time she has helped me build a foundation that has surpassed all of my expectations.  I highly recommend her as a West Coast Swing teacher.  She blends energy, fun and just the right amount of motivation to drive value for the student.
