About Aaron P.

As a 15-year-old teen I was headed nowhere. I had no interests and was failing my freshman year of high school. Then I started playing the guitar and fell in love with music. As I studied under my dad, who was a professional musician, my mind started to open up, my attention span grew. My problem solving skills and comprehension improved to such a degree that my grades went up to the honor level. Since I ended up graduating with a 4.0, I preach and stress the importance of learning a musical instrument.
I got into teaching only 4 years after I first picked up the guitar and immediately found that it was what I wanted to do for a living. Oh sure! Playing in bands is fun but I enjoy seeing my students grow in and with music most of all. Having over 20 years’ experience as a professional musician and teacher. I have been teaching exclusively in the High Desert area for the last 16 years. I started at a music store in Apple Valley called Hi Note Music then taught at Tom's for 14 years. Now I teach at Rollover Beethoven's Music store in Hesperia and out of my studio in Apple Valley.
*** Lesson Details ***
I can teach almost any style of music including Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Country and R&B. I stress the fundamentals: technique, reading, theory, ear training but in addition, I will give you all the licks and tricks you want. The important thing is to develop good habits because bad habits take a long time to overcome. I will provide you with the tools to play anything your heart desires and the ability to teach yourself.
*** Studio Equipment ***
separate studio w/ seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment ***
Have portable sound system and lap top computer. All the student needs are their instrument.
*** Specialties ***
I have written methods that I have found to work very well in teaching the student all aspects of music and how to apply it towards the instrument. My methods include the essentials in reading, finger exercises, theory, and ear training. I like to prepare my students for any and all genres. The key is to teach the student how to teach themselves.
