SCHEDULE NOTE: This is a very busy time of year for me. My availability is quite limited, so please check with me prior to scheduling. I have set the automatic calendar very tightly so please ask if there's a specific date and time not listed that you're interested in booking. END OF NOTE
Hello from Seattle! I love teaching! For more than 40 years and I have been a professional photographer. I was the Team Photographer for the Washington Stealth pro indoor lacrosse team for three years, and teach photography at the Pacific Science Center, the Bellevue Club, The Leica Store, Glazer's Camera, Omega Photo and other locations. I have shot professionally since I was 15. My photos have been published in several magazines and I have three photos published in the New York Times. I was the mission photographer for the first private spaceflight
- Space Ship One, and the first ocean plastic cleanup system. I have experience shooting dozens of cameras from nearly every manufacturer. I often write camera, software and lens reviews for online sites. I am also a former employee of Apple in their advertising department.
I love teaching:
~ Photography 101, Basic Photography How To's ~ Learning How to Really Use Your Camera (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus and more) ~ How to pick and use the right lenses for the task ~ Photos for your Online Store: Table Top Photography ~ Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop ~ Photo Processing, Editing, Storage ~ Basic Portrait Lighting ~ Travel Photography including making travel books ~ Black & White Photos from your Color Photos ~ Sports Photography ~ Printing Fine Art Photos ~ Color Management ~ Mac computer setup and optimization for photography
and other topics that may be of interest to you. I especially love doing a portfolio review with you where I give you honest critique and suggestions on how to improve your existing photos and think about elevating your new photos.
I like to start with new students by talking on the phone or emailing before our first lesson to get a good sense of your experience and your goals in getting more instruction in photography. I do not charge for this initial conversation once you have registered and scheduled your first lesson package.
Three of my students have gone from amateur to professional and are selling their work.
I am married (28 years!) and I have two boys - one in high school and one graduating college. I have several students in their early teens - I love teaching them because they're so motivated and unafraid of the technology.
We can do lessons together online using Zoom - we can see each other, hear each other, share screens and I can show you step by step how to do everything we cover! Zoom conferencing is free, there's nothing to buy, so it's included in my lesson prices. My students love our online sessions - we go at your pace and answer all the questions you have. My students range in age from 11 to 80.
I am most proud of this comment from one of my students: "There is a difference between teaching and mentoring. While the terms seem similar they are distinct in their approach to the recipient. Brad is innately both with the lessons I participated in. He is a teacher and a mentor.
He taught me but he also "brought me along". On one hand, he gave me excellent raw knowledge and technique but still, on the opposite side of the coin, gave constant reality-based feedback and pushed me without hurting my enthusiasm. He told me about his successes and shortcomings "once upon a time ago" and I didn't see him as infallible as many instructors want you to, I saw him as having lived a path, scouted it, and coming back to help show me the way. He didn't just tell me where I was going wrong, he showed me, then showed me how to correct it, then guided me through the process of correcting it, then followed up. Who could ask for more than that?
Brad is the total package when it comes to instruction. I am a better photographer for having studied with him. I am also making my dreams come true as a businessman. I owe most of that to him. I look forward to my next lessons, but honestly I more so look forward to what is behind the doors he will inevitably open up for me."
An oft-repeated phrase is "Been There, Done That." It describes my nearly 30 years of experience with computers, computer programs, websites and on the Internet ~~~ this section is about how "my experience" can serve you.
I created my first website over 25 years ago. In the 1990's, I hosted websites and email from servers in my basement. (That means I'm good at trouble-shooting and putting out fires!)
Today, I am a teacher, guide, coach, mentor, web builder, a domain registrar, and a web hosting re-seller. My latest interest is creating and showing video.
From that first day, decades ago, I've been teaching. I've taught one-on-one, taught small groups of 5-20, and addressed a full auditorium. I was an adjunct instructor for MS Office products at a community college. When I complete chapter 3 of something then I'm prepared to shar
e what I've learned in chapter one!
We will work together online, and maintain follow-up contact by phone and email.
Or, if you're in the Tampa / Clearwater / St. Petersburg (Florida) area, our first session can be held the old-fashioned way: face-to-face! (I actually prefer that.) We'll meet at a study room at a library half-way between us.
I like to use analogies, and they work best with an over-40 audience. Many millenials today have never seen a dimmer switch on a car floor or carried a digital pager.
I am available for all things computer: at home, at work, on your local network and on the Internet.
_____ PS: At the end of the last century I was assembling computers by hand, but don't tell anyone. They will want to use my trouble-shooting skills to help fix their hardware, too.
Rick was great to work with. I had specific issues I needed help with and he was able to steer me to the proper techniques and answer all my queries.

Hello I'm Chris! I am a Senior Software Developer specialized in website development. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a specialization in Web Applications.
I am tutoring students in computer knowledge and Information Technology since the beginning of the year. I worked as a Web Producer at Barnard College in New York City for a full semester and I also worked as a Lead Developer during three years. I currently work full time as a Software Developer with a start-up in New Jersey and I am also finishing my Master's degree in Information Systems.
Learning about computers, development in school and knowing how hard it can be, I came to a realization that what we learn is most of the time not what is being used on the job. Therefore I try to teach and give my students the exact skills they will
need in order to succeed in their careers and personal endeavors.
My lessons aim to everyone: children, teenagers and adults with all levels. The method I use is based on active learning with interaction in order to make my students practice what they learn directly on their computers.
As a tutor but also as a professional, I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible to achieve that I make sure that my lessons are always tailored to the students and as personal as possible. I am also open to suggestions because the most important thing for me is that the students enjoys our lessons.
I am very easy going and will always answer you as fast as I can so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
Please reach out if you are interested in learning about website development or just computers in general. I can not wait to help you reach your goals!
Tutoring: I have been teaching for over 17 years. I hold a BS in Cellular Biology for UGA: a MSM from Troy University, and PhD from the University of Alabama @ Birmingham. I look forward to helping you with all your tutoring needs.
Music: Piano, Voice, Songwriting, Music Theory: As the owner of Louise Catherine Music Studio (LCMS), my company's motto is, “unlocking the keys to exceptional music.” I strive to help each student person achieve musical excellence by teaching you to love music as much as I do. I have been in the arts for over 35 years with the majority of that in music. My musical background includes clarinet, self-taught flute, piano, vocals, guitar, and songwriting. I have performed in choruses, solo performances and in bands. I have been teaching for over 16 years. Let’s start a new wonderful musical journey t
Jocelyn is an excellent teacher. She was always responsive and flexible. She made learning fun every time we met. She was always in a chipper mood and made me feel like my priority was to be a better teacher

I was unsure if I wanted to go back to school. I was unsatisfied at my job and I didn't know what to do next. Jocelyn was great in that she listened to me but allowed me to make up my own mind. She had a lot of experience as a student and as an educator. She helped me to pick the right program, school, and prepare me for the GRE. i'm now enrolled in a program I love and I look forward to graduating and going into my new career.
I am a professor with seventeen years worth of experience in teaching various subjects for a multitude of students. I've taught subjects such as creative writing, commercial law, ancient civilization, ancient and transitional Latin and Greek, as well as Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Federal and Commercial Building Compliance and Law, et cetera. To put it bluntly, there's very little I cannot teach.
I've taught GED classes and courses for the State of Michigan and the Northeast Penitentiary system for seven years as well, which has been some of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.
I believe that everyone can learn. All it takes is that student to professor connection and knowing what type of learner the student is. I don't believe in a "one shoe fits all" type of teaching style.
My students are unique, with different ways of looking at problems and different ways of coming to their own conclusions and solutions.
Good teaching is a mixture of art and science—the ability to grab and keep students' attention and convey complex information, Mr. K does just that!! I have taken about 4 or 5 classes with him and I must say he has taught me everything I need now in my career. Patient and vastly knowledge. Definitely would take another class with him!

Mr. K taught was amazing. He taught the GED in Michigan a few years ago. The moment I walked into his classroom, it was just one and one. He didn't treat me like all the other teachers. He actually cared and it showed. But man, is he hard! I didn't think I would get homework after the first class, but I was seriously wrong. But over the next two months, he grilled me and grilled me until I wanted to scream. But when I took the GED and was scored, I aced it! Just to warn yall though, he's not an easy teacher. And he doesn't put up with excuses. But when he gives you his attention, its all of it.
He even went waaaay beyond the call of duty and helped me get into college at Lansing Community College. He walked me through the application, even drove and met me at LCC, and sat with me when we talked to the reps. He even helped me look for scholarships and gave me advise on financial aid! This guy is a saint!
I am a professional software developer with experience in C++, Perl, SQL, Java, C#, and Python. I completed a Master's degree in Computer Science in 2003. While a graduate student I taught beginning computer skills to freshman college students. After completing graduate school I worked as a SQL Server DBA for a year and since then I have been a Java software developer while occasionally using other languages.
My teaching technique involves beginning with the end in mind. In the first beginning class you will be given a complete computer program showing all the major concepts required for beginning students to learn which is about 15 weeks worth of material. By the end of the first lesson you will understand how it all works together. The remainder of the beginning classes flesh out more detail from that first computer program.
ced students we will go into the tools and practices that professional software developers use to make themselves more productive. These include unit testing, build automation, and source control management. We will also cover the language you choose in more detail.
"They exceeded my expectations for the web design. I could not be more pleased."
"Jason continues to help me achieve my goals and has made the lessons interesting and tailored to my needs."
"My first lesson with Matthew was great. He dove right into my priority checklist of things to discuss and offered helpful and easy to do tips right off th
e bat. Already during the second half of our lesson, Matthew was very helpful in identifying "golden nuggets" with some of the core things I need to be working on. Matthew definitely the "Go to Guy" to help you with your word press sites."
"He is listening to his student, whatever you ask he will answer in that minutes."
"So far great. Will be signing up for more."
"Had another great lesson learning a lot!"
"Awesome! He made it look so easy and it felt like i was talking to my best friend the whole time. Very impressed!"
"Bill is very patient and breaks the material down in a simple way to understand. He's helpful and motivating. With his help, I was better able to understa
nd my assignments and class material. Before his help, I was very confused about java concepts. I would definitely recommend him as a programming tutor!"
